Yesterday, I stopped by with friends and had a wonderful meal. Every dish we ordered was delicious. The mapo tofu was especially outstanding. I also highly recommend the eggplant dish. We enjoyed everything even more with some Tsingtao beer and had a great time together.
The city howled at us that night, a cold, unforgiving New York that crept through Patagonia coat, full grain leather, and human spirit alike. We had crawled from Connecticut sustained by coffee and conversations, and by the time Manhattan appeared, warm authentic Chinese food sounded good, and then there was Ollie’s. Inside, all the nonsense of “fine dining” vanished. No velvet ropes. No tragic little portions arranged by philosophers pretending to be chefs. Just steam from the kitchen, clatter
I stopped in this restaurant to get lunch. When I arrived I parked on the street nearby. I walked in and sat at a booth. I was served by Yang. I ordered: Sake Spicy Cumin Chicken Wings Beef Noodle Soup Grand Marnier Jumbo Shrimp Hunan Chicken with Brown Rice I enjoyed the food and my favorite was definitely the beef noodle soup. All in all a really good experience!
