My teenage son and I came early on a Tuesday as tourists to see the cartoons on the walls. He enjoyed his burger and fries, and I really enjoyed the steak caprese salad, which was reasonably priced, about $25. The waiters went above and beyond to welcome and help us. Since it was a quiet time of day, I also was able to walk around and get close to the illustrations without disturbing anybody. Overlook is more than just a bar for Illini and Chicago sports fans, it’s a great bar in its own right. There’s tons of space and seating, attentive service, and a very nice outdoor area upstairs which is rare in midtown. My friends and I came here to watch the Illinois basketball game and the place was absolutely rocking. Felt like I was back on campus for a night. I’d recommend this place to anybody, but especially to Illinois fans.
The blonde waitress and 2 girl bartenders downstairs were rude. It was a busy night for the Knicks game so I understand our waitress, not being as attentive, however, ordering a drink at the bar was almost impossible due to the bartenders, ignoring us, and basically refusing to serve us telling us we should order with our waitress. When we tried to close out our tab to move upstairs for standing room, the waitress also gave an attitude with that
