A neighborhood staple since 1933, this tavern is known for its no-frills atmosphere & free hot dogs.

A true New York institution. My husband and I were staying in Hell’s Kitchen, and by our second visit we were already chatting with the team behind the bar. The atmosphere is welcoming, the beer is great, and they even have hard seltzers for those looking for a lighter option. Of course, the real star is the hot dog—simple, classic, and unbeatable. One thing to note: Rudy’s is cash only. However, for all my fellow Gen Z Apple Pay users 😉, there’s an ATM conveniently located inside.
We had an amazing time! Rudy’s is a true OG institution in New York and kept pulling us back into the heart of Hell’s Kitchen like a magnet throughout our trip. Ask and you’ll get a free hot dog with every drink—and honestly, they’re really good! Pints start at just $4; the Rudy’s IPA is a must-try. Absolutely awesome! Huge thanks to the team—we felt right at home, got great tips for our trip, and found our happy place in New York. Greetings from Germany!
Rudy’s Bar & Grill is a rare piece of old New York that refuses to change for the sake of trends. The drinks are cheap, the free hot dogs are legendary, and the atmosphere feels authentic in a way that’s increasingly hard to find in Hell’s Kitchen. Whether you’re a regular or a first-time visitor, Rudy’s delivers the kind of character and charm that keeps people coming back for decades.
