The lunch menu was pretty good. The salad had an amazing dressing. Really love the crunch of the crispy garlic shrimp. The curry made from coconut was really savory. Choose padthai over the thick noodles, not much flavor.
Not the best, but far from the worst. The food is overall pretty good compared to many other popular Thai places in NYC, it's a NYC 5* but a personal 6.5/10. The flavors are there for the most part, but it's not intense enough (understandable) and unfortunately it's American level spicy). My friend and I made reservations at 6:30pm on a Friday. We had intended to go for restaurant week, and the website said that Sabai was participating. However, when I got to the restaurant, I was told that they were not participating. When I brought this up to the staff, they did comment that several people made the same mistake earlier in the week. If that was the case, then why not correct the restaurant week website, or make it very obvious on your website that you aren't participating? Both
