When I walked in, I wasn't sure what to order at first because I'd never been to a Shah's Halal Food before. But the man serving customers at the front counter was so: gentle, kind, polite, welcoming and respectful that he immediately put me at ease. I relaxed into this new environment. And I read their menu two or three times; then, I decided on a falafel gyro. It was only 9.99, which makes it really affordable for the UWS! Not bad, got the chicken and beef sandwich. The beef one have a bit more flavor than the chicken. Really like the cheese and onion in it.
I went to Shah’s to redeem a valid, unexpired coupon and was told they would not honor it. The employee mentioned new ownership but could not provide a clear explanation. Refusing to honor an advertised promotion is unprofessional and a poor way to treat customers. Very disappointing experience and not the level of service I would expect from a business that values its customers.
