Shibuya is a sushi market and one of the various vendors that is located inside Essex Market. At Shibuya, they serve handcrafted sushi, fresh sashimi, and flavorful poke bowls made with high-quality ingredients and traditional techniques. Salmon poke bowl was sooooo flavorful! I’m usually not picky w/ my poke because it’s just raw fish + rice + sauce, so it’s hard to get it wrong. But this sauce here was packed with more flavor and they added a dash of rice vinegar (maybe?) to the rice which elevates the overall flavor. Best poke I’ve had in a while! Limited choices but quality over quanitity
We had 2 chicken ramens. The chicken was a bit too fatty. A bigger issue was that the hot liquid came in plastic containers. Serving hot liquid in plastic containers means chemicals (environmental estrogens) could leech into the food and is not a good culinary practice.
