We remember this restaurant from years ago. It’s still good, but not as great as we remember. We did get there close to closing time, and they were out of a lot of food. The staff was kind enough to cook us two good Cuban sandwiches. The empanadas were hot and tasty.
This is a classic New York City Cuban establishment. They have over eight locations in the city. I love the casual but delicious food. It’s a great place to grab lunch or a quick dinner. Everything is made fresh and they always have a good variety. I love the oxtail, but make sure you called to make sure they have it cause they only have it on certain days. Definitely recommend the homemade empanadas!! They have a great selection of flavors!!
ELSA – Extremely poor service and unfair food portions My experience at Sophie’s Cuban Express was terrible, mainly because of an employee named ELSA. From the start, it was obvious that portions at this location are extremely small compared to other Sophie’s locations.
