Nice relax bar, rock vibe with local people! So why 3 stars ? The bartender added the 20% tip and gave me a non-itemized bill, so I added an additional 20% thinking the tip wasn’t included. Don’t do that if you want people to come again. I don’t mind giving an extra tip if is a good service, but I Do Not appreciate when bartenders play that game with me. Will I come back? Probably yes, but will pay more attention.
The playful, artistic atmosphere with dim lighting and fun details creates a perfect, relaxed yet stylish setting. Drinks are inventive and strong, especially the seasonal specials. Tried a few small bites that were tasty. Service was attentive. It got busier later, but still enjoyable. About $30-50 per person. Great spot for creative cocktails in the area.
Spent a chunk of my 20s in NYC and this is the place that I miss the most. Haven’t visited the States in 3 years but when I do, best believe it’s going to be JFK -> Strangelove. I started an eyewear brand and named a piece after this. What a place, what a name, what a vibe.
