Knickknack-adorned Red Hook saloon that's been around in one guise or another since the 1890s.

If I could give only one place 6 stars this would be the one I’d give it to. I absolutely love the atmosphere and “vibe” if you will. Every trip to Brooklyn we stop at Sunny’s. My favorite of course is the Bluegrass jam sessions that happen in the back….tough to hear if it’s packed but you can’t beat this place on a Saturday night or Sunday afternoon. Thanks Sunny’s!
No trip to Red Hook is complete without a stop at Sunny's. To me, it's everything a dive bar should be: cash only, no frills, and laidback. Even better, there's live music and a back patio. Reminds me so much of living in New Orleans, which is one of the highest compliments I can give :) Note: video is from July 2025.
We had the best experience hosting a semi-private engagement party at Sunny’s bar! The team was friendly and attentive — we were able to bring in a cake, a few decorations, and have a tab for our guests. The covered back yard is very pretty! Thank you Jeremy & all.
