After spending over an hour trying (and failing) to find parking near the Queens Night Market because of the Governors Ball, we decided to head to Tacos El Güero’s Sunnyside restaurant instead. Best decision we made all night! Emily, our server, was fantastic. The food was just as fresh and delicious as at the taco stand. The purple corn tortillas were incredible, the chicken was hot, juicy, and flavorful, the steak was delicious, and I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed the mushroo
Whether you dine-in or order delivery, the food is amazing! Very rare to see authentic hand-made blue corn tortillas in NY. Everything is fresh and delicious. I can’t decide if I like the Tacos or the Quesadilla more! The sauce is actually spicy, and they use queso Oaxaca on their quesadillas which was a +++ for me!! The environment is very welcoming and staff are very friendly. If you’re looking for an authentic Mexican restaurant, come here! 😋
The tacos are unreal — huge and absolutely loaded with meat. We went for rounds of al pastor, pollo, and birria… honestly loved them all, but the al pastor and birria are on another level. Blown away. Handmade tortillas too👌. Staff are all lovely — shoutout to Sam (I think that was her name!) for being so lovely and helpful 🙌 Heard they’ve got a new food truck in the neighborhood as well… can’t wait to track that down 👌
