Tap a Keg is the perfect local spot—super welcoming even if it’s your first time. Great Beer: A solid, well-curated selection. Top-Tier Cocktails: The late-evening bartender makes a killer Old Fashioned. Perfectly balanced and professional. Perfect Location: Right next door to the jazz club. It’s the ideal spot for a pre-show drink or a nightcap after the final set. If you’re in the neighborhood, definitely grab a stool here!
Fantastic dive bar in the area with affordable drinks done well. Staff is great, especially Ruth. Bring quarters for the pool table and get there early to sign up if you wanna play! No kitchen for food but they allow you to bring your own inside (the Mexican deli down the block is great, call ahead and pick up your order)
update; the scene at this bar almost got better post pandemic. the pool is just as serious and the crowd is a bit more lively then i remember. don't expect a group of college arsholes to pull up because they usually right away when they realize they're not new york enough to stay. didn't know they have a chess board in house. strongly implore ya to get tacos from the mexican deli right down to the right- some of the best tacos in the city!!!!! they're popcorn mix is tasty though. they throw go
