This is my favorite spot in the entirety of the Hugh in terms of main meals from what I've tried. The Super Suya bowl, for $16, is my preferred option here. Suya, for those who don't know, is basically a spiced peanut powder, and it goes wonderfully on top of grilled meats. My dish came with Jollof Rice (rice cooked in tomato broth,) Suya (grilled chicken with suya spice)- Kelewele (roasted sweet plantains,) Ndambe (black-eyed pea, sweet potato, okra stew,) Mafe (peanut sauce,) and Moyo (scotch
Never had West African food before but after hearing a great deal about this place, I was very curious to check it out a few weeks ago. Located inside The Hugh which is a really nice food court with ample seating both regular and almost auditorium style that is easy to get to right next to the E, F, and 6 stop on Lexington Ave and 53rd street, the court certainly impresses walking in and seeing a variety of food options. Teranaga's staff was nice as I made my order of their Yassa, Yassa Grilled
We ordered $300+ worth of catering, and the chefs were so accommodating, kind, and understanding when helping us combine it into fewer containers and bags for easier transport. Over 20+ people raved and loved the food - it was truly delicious and the variety was incredible. We will definitely be ordering from them again and highly recommend!
