We ordered the garlic fried rice, Lumpiang Shanghai, spicy goat meat with tomato sauce, and fried butterfish. The garlic fried rice and Lumpiang Shanghai were enjoyable, but the biggest disappointment was the fish, it had a noticeably fishy smell that made it hard to eat. We went on a Friday evening, but it wasn’t busy. Service was alright, though we had to go up to the counter to get our bill because our server wasn’t paying attention and was on her phone. I’ve been to this place several times and have never been disappointed by the food. The quality is great, and the prices are amazing honestly, it’s hard to believe a restaurant like this still exists in NYC at this price point. I’ve mentioned this before: when customers are expected to pack their own leftovers, it does take away a bit from the service experience. Not a fan of the waitress’ attitude to start with. Being a smart ass and ignorant without patience is not pleasant. Was excited to try the food here and that’s the first impression you give. I still ordered plenty of food: 6 dishes to try since that’s what I came here for. The service became much better after that sour taste. Food Was delicious.
