Walking into Tom’s Restaurant feels like stepping into a place that never really changed, and that is kind of the charm. The food came out very quick and the service was good, however I’m surprised to see so many good reviews. My omelet came with canned mushrooms and that fake American cheese. The homefries were not crispy and tasted very strange, almost strongly of white pepper or feet. Very kindly our server brought us fries instead. I got exactly what I was looking for when I was searching for a breakfast place near where I was staying. I had the cinnamon roll package and it was delicious. Ordered bacon and 2 eggs. The bacon was extra crispy which is not my preference but it was still tasty. The eggs were perfect. The place only accepts cash but the have a ATM by the entrance. Overall I enjoyed it. From the looks of it, they are an institution of the neighborhood.
