Low-key bar & grill featuring Japanese bites & live jazz in a cozy setting with a speakeasy vibe.
From Google Maps reviews.
Tomi Jazz in NYC was such a cute date night spot. Just know before you go, they don’t take reservations, and the place is small. I had seen reviews saying the average wait was around 1.5 hours, and that was pretty much exactly how long we waited. Honestly though, it was worth it. Once they led us downstairs and inside, it felt like we had stepped into this cozy little underground Tokyo jazz bar. The whole place had such a warm, intimate vibe, and the live music was actually so good. Very cozy,
Not mad honestly at the 1hour 15minute wait. It felt like part of the experience but I wouldn’t have been happy if I had to wait closer to 2 hours. The food was pretty good and I agree with others that it’s not actually “intimate”, it really is just small and cramped. But it’s unique and an experience that I wouldn’t probably do again just for the vibe. You don’t get on a waiting list or have any idea of the wait time. It’s just a waiting game and many people ahead of us gave up. I wouldn’t say
Place with an incredible vibe , very small but cozy. The lighting, acoustics, temperature, and overall atmosphere were all amazing. I loved everything: the décor, the service, and the music was fantastic. Great cocktails too! I had to wait 40 minutes in line to get in totally worth it, although I’ll admit I was close to leaving the line. Honestly, they should accept reservations or offer some kind of alternative entry system. Excellent jazz spot in NYC!
