We’ve always loved the fresh ice cream here but was extremely disappointed with the prepackaged pints. They tasted old and the mint chip still had green dye, after Van Leeuwen had officially removed the dye from their mint chip ice cream. I don’t know who long those pints had been sitting in the fridge. Having paid $48 for 4 pints of ice cream, I’m truly disappointed.
This place serves fantastic ice cream, and their pistachio flavor is my favorite. I usually stop by during the summer, but I couldn’t resist when I spotted their seasonal special last weekend after brunch. I tried the Sicilian Pistachio Cream Sundae for about $16 and it was amazing! It featured two generous scoops of pistachio ice cream, topped with crunchy honey almond slivers, hot fudge, pistachio sauce, and whipped cream. Delicious ice cream - we’ve tried almost every pint! The staff is particularly gracious - shout out to Hayden who gave us a complimentary pint after our 4th week purchasing multiple pints of ice cream in honor of our soon to be newborn.
