Quite expensive for the price - we got four small pieces of fish for the fish & chips, which was $28. French fries made up the bulk of dishes and were below average. However, the fish itself was tasty. The other dishes we ordered (Cuban sandwich, matzo ball soup) were similarly pricey for the quality, but the ambiance and service is good.
Viand Café was the perfect breakfast stop. The pancakes were great, and the breakfast sandwich on rye was delicious. Super quick and easy for anyone staying at Hotel Beacon. Our server was incredibly friendly and helpful, making it a great start to the day.
Overall love this place. You won’t find a better “regular” Diner/Coffee Shop. It’s not trying to be anything that it’s not. We come all the time and we are rarely disappointed. Excellent diner food. Matzoh ball soup is absolutely delicious. Bagel & lox is fantastic. Love their omelettes. Love their salads. Delicious coffee. (Negative: We were disappointed with the apple pie - very mediocre.)
