We visited the bar as a pair on Sunday evening. It was very relaxed and not too crowded. The ambiance is beautiful, high-quality and cozy. The selection of alcoholic drinks is extensive and of excellent quality. We had espresso martini and beer - both were delicious. The bartender did a perfect job. I attended a poetry slam event at this venue on a Monday. It was amazing and the energy in the room was magnetic. This was my first time performing any poetry and I was very excited. There was no food served however you could bring in food. They had a bar available for those who drink.
First time here and I'm far from impressed. Waiting in line for $15 glasses of mediocre wine and not enough room to stand without being shoved literally every 2 seconds, I can think of 2000 bars in NYC that are managed better. Keep trying though I guess.
