This is such a cool place in NYC. If you want light food or heavy both you find here. We ordered thaali and dosa. Thaali was so good! Every curry was divine.
Great atmosphere, great authentic food, generally available, and solid service - always reliable. Have been here dozens of time. No idea why the ratings are so low. They don’t do a lot of marketing which they probably could. Guess that makes it a bit of a hidden gem.
We visited Ananda Restaurant for dinner and ordered a few Indian curries along with garlic naan and chapati. While the curries were decent, we were disappointed with the bread. The garlic naan and chapati did not taste freshly made and lacked the texture and freshness we typically expect from Indian restaurants. As a result, the overall dining experience was not as enjoyable as we had hoped. We appreciate the effort and hope this feedback helps improve the experience for future customers.
