Very cute theatre!!! Came here for a pre-screening of Arco and a Q&A with the voice cast. Natalie Portman was one of the guests!! An extremely memorable experience. Love that this theater hosts these kinds of events for cinephiles like me. This location definitely brings me back to those old cozy theatre vibes where the auditoriums are small and the seats are very close together. Also, loved the cute cafe in the lobby!!! A nice selection of drinks with a lot of seating. Will be coming back soo
I really like the Angelika Film Center at Union Square. I find it very practical that they have a café offering not only coffee and hot chocolate, but also options like hummus with pita bread — which feels original and refreshing for a movie theater. That said, I do find it a bit uncomfortable and distracting that you can feel and hear the subway passing underneath the theater. Also, the seating doesn’t have enough incline, so the person sitting in front of me was partially blocking the screen.
The experience was really very pleasant. The treatment of the staff is very friendly, the place is spacious and clean. Do not hesitate to live the experience, it is always appreciated to get cozy places in the city.
