The food here is phenomenal, but what's better is the staff. Ordered apps and a burger and it was heaven. The fries are A+ and the pork belly ....holy moly Super friendly staff. Alex introduced himself as we left and the whole vibe there is exactly what makes this city great. Wish I took pics, I was too busy eating and watching the Knicks win.
The Chicken Tagine with apricots and prunes was rich and delicious, accompanied by perfectly cooked couscous. The hummus and labneh starters were fresh and great for sharing. The atmosphere is lively and charming, capturing the classic energy of St. Marks. It got busy quickly, resulting in a short wait, but it was worth it. The service was solid. The cost was around $25 per person. This is a reliable favorite in the East Village.
Greats vibes, really friendly staff, and even better food. The double smash can compete with any restaurant in the city, and I was able to get a rundown of the entire neighborhood by the bus boy who was very friendly. The owner is always at the bar, great guy, clearly an expert in the game.
