Casual eatery for roast, fried, braised and fall-off-the-bone chicken dishes with Chinese spices, plus pancakes.
From Google Maps reviews.
The food was healthy and light on the stomach, this is cleaning eating. Wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t great, breast was dry. Lacked flavor to me, slight hint of herbs. The cucumbers were good, but tasted of sesame oil only. Overall not bad but lacked a lot. Place is a bit small so it’s hard to maneuver. Customer service was good, and it was clean imo.
Cauldron Chicken is a great spot if you’re craving something simple yet delicious. The roasted chicken is the highlight soft, juicy, and perfectly seasoned. If you go for the combo set, you can also choose your own side dish and drink, which makes it a good value. Overall, the food is tasty, the quality is consistent, and it’s a nice place for a casual meal in West Village.
I can see why people like this chicken - it is pretty well made and juicy. The cost is also reasonable. Personally, I felt like the seasoning tasted a bit medicinal. Glad I tried it, but I’m not likely to return.
