I feel so lucky that such an exemplary, delicious, authentic, affordable, chicken rice restaurant has opened in the East Village. It really is one of the best in town and just like the best chicken rice stalls in Thailand and Singapore (unfortunately I’ve never been to Malaysia). Plus, in a neighborhood where 6 well-made soup dumplings can cost $12, $15 including tax for their Set A (steamed chicken, chicken-flavored rice, broth, 3 sauces) is an amazing deal for a high quality, “homemade” meal
I LOVE the chicken from their Elmhurst location so when I heard the opening in East Village, I have the try. I had a 1-person meal fried chicken for dine in and one grilled chicken for take out. Fried chicken was good, but grilled chicken portion is ridiculously small. Also, I paid tips on both, based on post-tax amount plus credit card fee. Bottom line: not the place I remember any more…
