Went to Fat Boy Burgers last weekend and it’s a solid spot for a nice, sizable burger. It’s flavorful and has a lot going on. That said, competition in NYC is tough, and this one didn’t quite stand out for me. There was a bit too much lettuce—adds some crunch, but not much flavor. It might just come down to preference though, as their burger leans more old school compared to the smash burger styles you see all over the city now. Overall, a decent burger, just not one I’d go out of my way for.
Solid beef and chicken burgers with great buns and toppings. The secret(ish) sauce tastes like the typical concoction that everyone has but it complements the toppings and patties well. The fries and onion rings were quite good with crispiness and softness in the same bite right where they should be. I mean this in the best way possible; the burger tastes like how burger used to taste back in like the 90s. I don’t know what black magic was used but I missed this flavor. The burger was juicy and tasty. I was worried about the brioche bun, as I am a potato bun lover, but it worked out well with everything else. The seasoned fries were great, hot and crispy.
