My daughter and I were so happy to find this amazing cafe during our exploration of the East Village. The fresh daifuku (mochi) are the best we’ve ever had in NYC (it’s like being in Japan)! So soft, chewy, and flavorful. The onigiri are large and so fresh and delicious. I also had the black sesame matcha latte - yum! Highly recommend for anyone who loves authentic Japanese treats that are hard to find in the States. And the Japanese woman working there was so friendly and sweet. Thank you very
Okay, why aren’t more people talking about this spot? A friend of mine told me a lot about Himawari so I finally decided to pay a visit. The interior was so cute and homey. I chatted a bit with Katsuko-san, who was super lovely and gave me a sample of their mochi brookie (which was really good so I’ll definitely be down to buy one sometime). My absolute favorite spot. I’ve been waiting to come here after I found out they were moving - I wanted to try the matcha parfait and I can gladly say it was my absolute favorite and I will be back again!! I tried the mochi brookie and surprisingly, I loved it even more than the parfait :). The staff were so kind and I truly felt welcome there. You can really tell the owners put their heart and soul into this cafe, from the decorations to the food to their kindness! I’ll definitely be back again
