Intimate restaurant offering two seasonal courses: a traditional Japanese omakase and an Italian-inspired kappo.
From Google Maps reviews.
The decor is beautiful and really reminds me of Japan. The fish and rice in the omakase were excellent, especially the golden eye snapper and the trout sushi, which were absolute standouts. Chef Suzuki-san prepares each piece with great care, and the rest of the team is very friendly and attentive. Overall, this is one of the best sushi restaurants in NYC.
The space is very intimate and private but the way the head chef handles the night also allows you to interact with the other patrons. The servers gave us really a really good recommendation on sake and they actually pay attention to any notes you have when you make the reservation. Their home made ginger ale is the best I’ve ever tried. The pace was perfect too The abalone liver mixed with rice was the best! Dessert was white asparagus ice cream with olive oil - it does taste like asparagus
Chef was excellent. As far as nyc high end omakase goes some of the best, if not the best, rice preparation there is. And his use of the abalone in both dishes was amazing. Loved talking to him about sushi and food in general. Highly recommend!
