The service and vibe were both great here. The people are really nice. The music was perfect for the evening and not too loud. The food just didn’t compare when it came to flavor. The shrimp was tasty. The snapper was not that great and we’ve had better. There are signs everywhere telling you that the prices are high so don’t be surprised. Since they were high, we were expecting the taste to match. Ended up leaving with a shrimp left and parts of the fish still remaining. Not worth taking home
Food although expensive, it was delicious. Our server Melissa was awesome and our company was delightful. The atmosphere can get a bit of a lift but otherwise, I recommend the restaurant.
JP's is a bit laid back, with laid back music, but that's what I love about it. It's not bougie like some of the other restaurants on City Island. And because it's off the main street it doesn't get the attention it deserves. Also, to some their prices may seem high, but the large portion size you're getting is why it's priced that way. In any other restaurant, if you ordered ravioli, you'd probably get 5 pieces on your plate. JP's gives enough to feed 2-3 people! My meal usually yields 2 days w
