Yum! I came here to try the famous cardamom bun and some other pastries. The cardamom bun had a wonderful, chewy texture but I’m not sure if I liked the cardamom flavor. The ham & cheese croissant was amazing! So buttery, flaky, and flavorful. I also tried the seasonal tart (it was an apricot, tahini, and carrot cake tart this time), which was tasty but not really my cup of tea. Still would totally recommend this place for flavor, texture, and quality 👌
La Cabra is easily one of my favorite coffee chains in Manhattan. They consistently deliver excellent quality, and this East Village location is no exception. Being close to NYU, the place is almost always packed, so be prepared to spend some time in line. That said, the wait is absolutely worth it. This spot has been all over social media, and it’s totally worth the hype. The space has a great energy..good music playing, clean and thoughtful decor, and a really nice setup overall. (Love the speakers) The pastries looked fresh, and I loved being able to see the chefs working through the window, it adds a level of transparency that feels intentional and elevated. The bar area is well-designed, and the baristas were solid. One thing I especially appreciated was how precise everything felt.
