Great bar! Affordable drinks, outdoor seating, and it may sound silly but they always have perfectly toasted bread. The bartenders are awesome and friendly. They have fun events - trivia, karaoke, tv watch parties, etc. It’s a cool, social place to pop in and grab a few drinks. Added bonus if you like tinned fish.
Why is the sun always shining and the weather always perfect when I end up at Maiden Lane? Could be a coincidence. Could be witchcraft. The tinned fish and salty drinks create the perfect city-coastal escape. The tanned California transplants working out inside Tompkins Sq. Park will also make you feel as though you’re at a beach. Just beware the occasional villager passing by who makes eye contact with you as you drool over your martini and fish.
Worst experience ever. The bartender send us away from the bar after realizing (once we had already paid for our drinks and were sitting outside) that he hadn’t asked for ids. All of us had it and the only person who didnt - and who wasn’t EVEN DRINKING - was asked to leave the bar. Even after pointing out that he was just having water.
