The Mimi Cheng’s flavored dumplings were very juicy and I enjoyed them. I was disappointed in the Pork & Chive. They were not as juicy as the chicken and the triangular shape kept opening up. Dipping sauce was good, but not great. It was a little heavy on the vinegar and it looked like there was chili oil, but I didn’t taste any spice. Prices are a little on the high side even for the location. I like that you can see them being handmade there but it was underwhelming for me.
This was my favorite quick casual spot for many years. Been a few months since I last ate here and the quality seems to have gone down — portion sizes for the chicken over rice was tiny and I unfortunately found a piece of plastic in between the rice and chicken.
The dumplings are good but not great. It’s solid, it’s fast, and the prices are fair. Nothing to complain about, nothing to write home about. What this place excels in is speed. We were running late but needed a meal. We were in and out of Mimi Cheng’s in ~20 minutes.
