Low-ceilinged gay bar with a subterranean feel, diverse beer menu & jukebox.
From Google Maps reviews.
Love the name. My friend read it as 'Now here", either way it's a step down, below ground NYC hide away gay bar and I get the feeling they want to keep it that way. Very low ceilings and a little too dark. Your eyes may need time to adjust. Friendly enough people once you can see who's in there. It's a bit like the old New York speakeasy gay bars.
The security staff at this bar were extremely rude and unprofessional. The security guard’s behavior came across as discriminatory and homophobic, and the way he treated my partneer was completely unacceptable. My partneer briefly stepped outside and was then denied re-entry without any valid explanation. Meanwhile, our tab remained open, and we were not even given a proper opportunity to settle our bill. Throughout the entire evening, the security guard’s attitude ruined what should have been
Highly recommend. I would definitely return. Drinks were strong. Prices were reasonable. Bartenders and the DJ were doing a wonderful job. And the bar was lively with plenty of space to accommodate guests.
