Old Town Bar in the Flatiron area was a fantastic stop for food and drinks for a dive bar, and I’m really glad it was recommended to us. From the moment we walked in, the place had that classic New York bar feel—full of character, history, and energy. It was packed when we arrived, which is always a great sign, and despite how busy it was, we were able to grab seats at the bar pretty quickly. The drinks were fresh, well-made, and came out fast. No venue is as old school as Old Town Bar. No TVs and no loud music just great drinks and great food. We visited during the great snowstorm of 2026 and in the middle of all the snow, we got outstanding wings and potato leek soup to go with our drinks. We went for dry wings with buffalo sauce on the side and they were so good we ordered two more portions. We also enjoyed the tenders but the wings were better. The chili was also yummy and we’ll be back with or without the snow.
This is a tough area of town to find a nice dive spot. This could be it. It has dive bar feel but not dive bar prices. Feels like putting on an old broken in shoe when you sidle up to the bar. The bartenders were top notch. I wish i could remember their names so I could shout them out as being top notch, polite friendly and on top of the customers. It was busy when we got there but we were able to sit at the bar. We had some whiskey’s some beers and and enjoyable convo with family we rarely see.
