Stopped by Pasta Sole on 1st Avenue for an episode of Jaguar’s Guide TV after seeing Jack’s Dining Room try it, so I had to see if it was actually worth it. This is more of a quick casual pasta spot than a full sit-down restaurant. You order through a kiosk, pay by card, and pick up your food. I stopped into this restaurant for lunch. When I arrived I parked on the street nearby. I walked into a cozy spot. I was greeted and ordered: Mini Calzone Fettuccine Meat Lovers (Fettuccine Alfredo, Bolognese, Meatballs) Lobster Fettuccine (Fettuccine Alfredo & Lobster Ragu) Mushroom Risotto I loved how they made the pasta in the cheese wheel! I enjoyed the lobster pasta the most! The risotto was not too bad. All in all a good experience!
Had lunch at Pastasol and walked away a bit underwhelmed for the price. I ordered the pesto chicken pasta and a calzone. The pasta was disappointing — topped with a light sprinkle of cheese and barely salted, but otherwise pretty flat in flavor. For $27, I expected more depth. The calzone was the better half of the meal: nicely crispy, fried dough with melted cheese inside, served with a marinara sauce that, while also a little underseasoned, still worked well with the crunch of the dough.
