I stopped by here to have a glass of wine. I was alone, so I sat at the bar. However, they had indoor seating as well as a few tables outside right in front. The place is cute and cozy, it’s small, but feels welcoming. The bartender was great, he was really attentive and personable. He answered all my questions without an ounce of being annoyed. It is a nice, dark bar for intimate dates. Server was respectful and didn't rush us. Also was a solo act so didn't check back often which is nice until you'd like another glass. Just be patient until you can catch his eye. Could use more nibbles on the menu. But I think there may have just been 1 guy working, so it might be the place you go for a lovely glass or two and move on. Loved the ambience of candlelight. Check out their eclectic wine list and healthy pours.
This is the best bar in the east village, if not the entire city. Solid happy hour ($10 martinis?!), amazing bartenders, and great snacks (best handmade guacamole!!) Thanks to the staff, I feel comfortable coming here alone or bringing friends. Especially Saúl, who is SO welcoming/funny/easy to talk to. Anyone who doesn’t like this place doesn’t understand what a classic NY bar is meant to be, and is missing out on getting to know the awesome people that work there.
