Was certainly in the mood for something different and this spot did the trick. Located in the Greenwich Village area among other student friendly shops, this The Kati Roll Company location is a bit small with few seating options so more a takeout spot especially if you are coming with a big party. That said, the vibe of this spot was nice and maned by two guys who were kind, took my order, and service was relatively quick. I decided to try out their Chana Masala Roll ($6.95) and Aloo Masala Rol
I used to love grabbing a $4 egg roll and $5 paneer, $5 chicken masala roll - flavorful and filled with goodness (roti or paratha, your choice) for dinner before class down the way. Still up the stairs again like others on the street (so no way to make it accessible to those who can't take stairs) and small benches with tables for you to sit at. If you’re looking for a "deconstructed" meal, this might be for you—my Aloo Paratha arrived with the potato and bread leading completely separate lives. Unfortunately, the rest of the meal followed suit. The chicken portion was minimal and lacked character, the chips were over-fried and greasy, and the salad was sadly past its prime. For a New York staple, I expected much better craftsmanship.
