We had a wonderful experience at Thompson Square Bagels in the East Village, and it’s definitely a place I’d be happy to return to. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt warm and welcoming, with a cozy, neighborhood feel that immediately puts you at ease. If you are even remotely serious about bagels, Tompkins Square Bagel is worth the hype and then some. We stopped in while visiting New York City, and it quickly became one of my favorite food moments of the trip. After many years in New York, I finally tried Tompkins Square Bagels, and it absolutely did not disappoint. Easily one of the best bagels I’ve had in the city so far. I kept it simple with a toasted salted bagel with butter, and it tasted incredibly fresh, perfectly chewy, and warm in all the right ways. My boyfriend got an everything bagel with three eggs, cheddar cheese, and bacon, and it was just as solid. Classic, no-frills, done right. Definitely living up to the hype. 🥯
