We came here on a last-minute change of plans (re: hangry and desperate), otherwise I don't think I'd ever have willingly entered. Villa Mosconi is your tough, blue-collar Italian uncle in restaurant form. The interior is old, dingy and depressing. The furniture feels stuffy, the wall decor feels outdated--everything is just '80s Sopranos. Right down to the service--the one highlight--which was friendly in a gruff and tough kind of way. I actually really enjoyed everything about this place. The food was good. The ambiance was great. The service was amazing as well. Price was decent. Thank you to our waiter, Kenny. He really made the experience better. Only thing I was was that the dishes were presented a little better but honestly it fits the place 😅
This is, hands down, the best Italian food I have eaten. We had a party of six and all tried a wide variety of foods from the menu - each being perfectly prepared. The drink selection was great, the wait staff fantastic and the ambience perfect. If I am ever back in New York, this is my go to location for dinner.
