You never know with these spots, soul food is very either it’s delicious or meh. Soul spot delivered, this was delicious. I got to satisfy all my cravings. Everything I ate was delicious (turkey wings, oxtail, plantain, mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, green beans) with generous portions. The store is also well maintained and clean, I wasn’t anticipating that I’d be able to sit and eat but it was quite clean. A local gem for sure.
Ordered for pickup because it said delivery, 5 blocks away to my hotel, was too far. Food was done on time, but the lamb chop was the only thing that came out as expected. The black eyed peas with rice were more like Caribbean rice and peas vs the traditional style. It was hard to discern if it was in fact salmon in the croquettes because it was overpowered by sweet mashed potatoes. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Hidden Gem That Feels Like Home! Listen I originally walked in just for cornbread. I was in the area, looked the place up on Google, and thought I'd give it a try. The moment I saw the food, I started yelling to my friends (we were visiting from Toronto Canada) asking if they wanted anything because WOW. Every single bite was worth it. The food felt like it came straight from my Jamaican family’s kitchen homemade, flavorful, and full of love. That cornbread? Easily the best I've had in
