I had the stew chicken with rice and peas and cabbage from Patty Plus and everything was absolutely delicious. The stew chicken was tender, flavorful, and tasted very traditional with the perfect rich gravy over the rice. My Jamaican coworkers sucked their teeth when we left the restaurant. The curry goat was tough, not tenderized enough. It had a strong curry flavor but was not necessarily well seasoned. The fried chicken with the sweet and sour sauce was yes, fried chicken with sweet and sour sauce but it was not seasoned. We should have turned around when we noticed they were serving the white rice out of a plastic bag. Presentation goes a long way!
I love this restaurant! its the ONLY Caribbean/Jamaican spot that I eat from! I’m big on the gravy, and they nail it for me every time; it’s rich, perfectly seasoned, and hits exactly how it should. The oxtail, jerk chicken, and stew peas are my favorites, they always prepare it how I order it. I have been eating here since 2021.
