I've had pizza from here a few times and normally has been good above average. Today had pizza and some chicken rolls and it seems like they change the sauce had more of a pepper green pepper to be precise taste to it. Lied about not being on seamless, where I ordered from them for many years. Fellow who answered the phone was rude and definitely not a people-person. He probably forgot to turn on the tablet for incoming orders. By 2pm the lack of incoming should have been glaringly obvious to whoever is in charge. I just assume they don't care anymore. It's a shame because food and service used to be a cut above the other neighborhood options.

This place is one of my favorite pizza places in NY. So you know where I'm coming from, Two Boots is my favorite. But this place is quite different, not as salty and seems healthier. Regular slice is great, on the thin side but very tasty not run of the mill marinara, good cheese to sauce ratio (more cheese than sauce). Crust is good also. Now on the main review at hand. I’ve been going to Charlie’s Pizza since I was a child. My mom and even my grandpa to this day still go. It’s one of those places that’s been part of our family for generations. I'm not sure what you expect, it's a nice, decent small business offering food. There's a large hospital nearby (NYU) and you'll see nursing or medical staff come in for food occasionally along with the workers from the surrounding area. Portion sizes are good, the workers are friendly, kitchen looks clean, no real complaints.

There is a Bangladeshi cashier who regularly works the register who pretends to speak Spanish but he doesn’t know the language. He tries to make fun of the language. Just had dinner from Jack's Pizza tonight and it was absolutely on point. The pizza was fresh, hot, and full of flavor with quality ingredients you can actually taste. I had a very disappointing and concerning experience with this restaurant. I ordered a pizza, and when it arrived, one part of the slice/edge looked like it had been bitten or torn off before I received it. I immediately called the store to report the issue, but they denied responsibility and did not handle the situation properly. Ordered on 5/4/24: Neopolitan- style with meatballs, green peppers and mushrooms. Pizza was disgusting- we ended up throwing it away!! This place used to be good. But now 2026 it's pure utter garbage. Could be too they are understaffed. In the app it will say the food is ready but in reality it's not, when you arrive you'll probably wait an additional 15-30min. Travelled across an ocean to experience how the great city of New York makes it's wonderful pizzas. We chose this place as it was a proper old style hole in the wall pizzeria, and believe me we were not disappointed. The pizza was cooked to perfection, deliciously crispy and great flavoured cheese.
