Knew them for years and they have been part of the community in serving food for decades. Staff was always kind and respectful. The food is always to my liking, been getting my chicken thighs for years now. Mindy is a kind and lovely women that cares about people. Anyone who doesn't like this place is just downright hateful. Writing this review on behalf of my sis who likes to buy from this bakery and has been a customer for years. I tried the frozen steamed pork bun for the first time and very disappointed. There was not any meat inside although I was not a fan of having lots of meat inside a bun but the pork buns from this bakery lacked of meat (tasted only the sauce). The quality of the pork bun is getting worse with no meat. My sis and I didn't try the other stuff and are afraid to be more disappointed.

Los Balbuena is one of those solid local gems. If you want real Dominican flavor, generous portions, and a friendly spot to eat, this is a great choice. Their red beans are to die for! One of the best I’ve tasted. I’ll absolutely be back, and next time I want to try their sancocho just to see if it’s as good as this. I usually have a decent experience here. As of late the food has been off and today I found hair in my food. I brought the plate back immediately as is, didn’t even move the hair. This is my go to spot for Cocnut buns. It’s always made fresh and sold at a reasonable price. Their ice coffee is delicious and does not taste too sugary or milky. I recommend going when the store just opens as many of the baked good are warm and still have steam coming out of them!

One of the better dining halls at NYU. Most of the servers are pretty friendly and they have a nice variety of fresh food and different cuisines. Their knock-off CAVA bowls are pretty tasty. Chicken tenders are pretty fire. Coca-cola freestyle machine is super convenient. Would recommend.

This is one of my favorite Asian breakfast joints in Flushing. I will always support a mom and pop shop over chains any day. The dumplings are made fresh every hour, the pork and cabbage buns are fantastic. I also love their homemade soy milk and sweet tofu with ginger sugar.
