This is a perfectly standard Szechuan/Sichuan spot pretty close to the 59th Street/Queensboro Bridge. It's one of two close by, along with the tastier House of Plenty nearby. There's also the much better Hui on East 70th, but that's a bit more of a schlep. I've been here for their lunch special, which is reasonably priced and includes an appetizer, rice, and your choice of entree. The service was slightly slow, and it was quiet and clean. I went with the Hot and Sour, which was good. Other appe

Just WOW. I haven’t had a salad bowl this good in a long time. There are so many salad bowl places out there now. This place knocks Sweetgreen JustSalad and Chopt out of the park for multiple reasons: 1) Portion: so plentiful. Not only is the take out bowl itself significantly larger than a Sweetgreen take out bowl, they fill it up entirely to the lid! 2): Quality toppings and toppings made with care and attention: salmon, roasted broccoli to name a few in my Buddha bowl. I’ve never been to bluestone lane before but it was freezing in NYC and I was looking for a good coffee near Grand Central. The inside of the store is so nice! I knew i immediately would plan to come back, it felt so welcoming, bright, and airy even on a 12 degrees gray winter day. I ordered a mocha through the app and my drink was made pretty quickly. It was so good! My first mocha in ages and it was worth it! Truly the espresso tasted perfect, the mocha flavor was natural and the almond milk w

I work around this area, but a lot of the coffee shops in this northern midtown are kinda meh or the typical big coffee shop chains. I found this spot on google maps and figured I'd give it a try. I loved the cute and colorful interior design!! the assortment of baked goods and desserts looked really good here, alas i just ordered a latte. Got the Bananarama which was delicious and strong caffeine content. It was great to start the day... i was wired the rest of the work day hahah

I discovered Matchaful @ Clean Market through a promotion they were running with the New York Times Connections game. If you showed that you completed the daily puzzle, they offered a complimentary limited-edition four-layer drink inspired by the game’s color tiers (purple, blue, green, and yellow). It was such a creative idea. My first sip honestly surprised me. The flavor was much more earthy and natural than the typical “healthy” drinks you find at many smoothie spots. Wow! What a surprise. Saturday night, was looking for a decent place to grab some sushi. Nothing on Maps caught my eyes except for that one- so I followed my intuition. Beautiful decoration, nicest bartender I had. Great sushi (look how thin the rice is)- so fresh. Took a miso soup as well- actually had a rich flavor, you could tell it's prepared on spot. The bartender explained about the wines and was very generous and welcoming. Highly recommend!

Two bars in one really. One at the front, with it's own door, and one at the rear, with outside seating area too, and access into the Fitzpatrick hotel lobby. It's a great bar. Both bars make one pub! But I want to talk about breakfast. If you didn't know it before, you do now: the Irish know a thing or two about doing a great cooked breakfast. Go for the full Irish breakfast - you won't be disappointed. Combine that with cosy surroundings, attention to detail (everything is quality, proper

This is the small bar inside the Algonquin hotel. It's a beautiful space, with marble throughout. The actual bar is quite tiny - I would not recommend a large group visit at the same time. Stopped by Jaba in Midtown on a Tuesday night and it wasn’t too busy. Our server was very nice, attentive, and enthusiastic about the menu, emphasizing that the restaurant focuses on elevated Taiwanese cuisine, which is apparently fairly unique in the city. The meal started strong. The king salmon crudo and oyster pancake were both excellent appetizers, and the desserts were standout as well — the sweet potato crème brûlée and salted egg panna cotta were creative and delicious. A classic and elegant old money gay bar. This is where the piano plays as well dressed gay men of culture and money sing along. Its a terrific place to pick up sophisticated young attractive men who are clever at conversation. Love this place. Dont be sloppy, dress to impress and have a bit of decorum. I decided to try a new coffee spot today and walked into Tenpa’s. I ordered a 16oz iced latte with almond milk and raspberry flavoring. I should’ve taken a picture before I mixed it all up because it was pretty and layered. The raspberry flavoring isn’t very strong, but the quality of the coffee is REALLY good. You can tell it’s good just by the color of it, that perfect toasty brown. Not too milky :) These guys are fast and efficient! Don’t be worried about a line because it’s moving FAST. The

Alessa Cucina E Bar in Midtown was a great spot for a relaxed night out. We ordered the marinated olives, which came in a generous portion and were well seasoned and delicious. The Fritto Misto, a mix of calamari, shrimp, and zucchini, was lightly battered and served with chili aioli. It was good, though not particularly memorable. We also tried the housemade focaccia; the bread itself was very good, but I wasn’t a fan of the butter it came with. The fries were tasty, but I would have preferred

Good experience at JOE & THE JUICE on Park Avenue. The place was not busy when I visited, so the service was fast and smooth, which I appreciated. Personally was not a fan. Tasted like the pizza from the places where you can get a 2 slices of plain pizza for $1.50 but for $10. The crust was thin and burnt; it just tasted like cheese and tomato sauce on a cracker. The employees were nice but then seemed to be annoyed when I didn’t tip (I’m not tipping when I’m ordering take out and picking up the food myself). The one positive thing I will say is that they were fast.
