By far the best dining experience I have had in Manhattan. Not only was the food outstanding, the staff was kind and accommodating from the time we walked in to the time we left. The atmosphere is welcoming and comfortable, making our dinner last hours longer than we initially intended. My favorite touch of personality was getting to pick the actual vinyl to be played while enjoying our meal. We also had the most amazing time sitting and talking with the owners, Kevin & Sophia, who were so kind.

I recently dined at Portale and overall had a solid experience. The ambiance is elevated yet comfortable, a nice spot for a relaxed upscale dinner. Service was a bit uneven. While polite, it felt somewhat slow and distant at times, which took away from the overall flow of the evening. Food-wise, there were some highs and a few misses. I love to try new cafe / coffee shops anywhere we travel too. Never been to one of these locations before but this one was near our hotel we stayed at, so I stopped in to grab coffees. Wasn’t such a fan of my ice beverage but still enjoyed trying something new, it wasn’t bad ; it just wasn’t what I’m use to tasting in my coffee. Filaga in Chelsea Market is an absolute standout. The quality is immediately apparent, with fresh, authentic ingredients and a perfectly executed crust. I tried four slices the Inferno, Zucchini, Margherita, and one other and all were fantastic. The pizzaiolos were incredibly welcoming, too; I asked if I could take a picture, and they actually posed for me, which adds another star in my book! Absolutely love this place. They have a great selection of craft beers, ciders and cbd beverages. The draft beers are ~$8 and rotate regularly. They also have happy hour during which time a few of the beers are $6. The vibe is good. In the summer they open up the doors, which is nice. It’s also dog friendly and has a small food menu. I took the basil pasta to go, they also have cacio e pepe as a to go option. It comes in a small box (I took the picture after I ate half of it already).
