We have been to this beautiful restaurant on east 82 and 1st several times over the years. We recently booked a table to celebrate the birthday of our close friend. We ordered roasted chicken, beef bourguignon, wine and a special dessert for the birthday lady.

One of the best crepes I’ve ever had! I’m gluten and dairy free and everything was delicious. They even had dairy free whipped cream (yum!!). The owner was so sweet and was making fresh cookies while I was there and offered me some to try. Sweetest lady ever and I will definitely be back!

HOW have I not given Shanghai a review yet?! This is hands DOWN the best cheap Chinese food I’ve eaten in NYC! Amazing flavor across each dish I’ve tried, but the chicken with mixed vegetables is my favorite. Always fresh vegetables, tasty brown sauce, and the hot and sour soup is always fresh and flavorful! The workers are so polite and friendly and the prices are incredible for Manhattan. I’ve been going here for over five years and will keep coming back!

I bought the pick 6 meal for 2. I got the burger, it's on the saltier side. Good size, it's pretty good. I took the boneless wings, they are fine flavor wise. But I don't think they're that worth it. Very scrawny. Just get nuggets or bone in. Tater tots were great (crispy crunch I like), and the fries were good. And came with 2 bottle drinks.

Portions are always smaller at this location than at others. Expect your burritos to have more bites of tortilla than anything else. For its price, you might as well go to chipotle or dos toros nearby.

Everything about this meal was perfect! I was with a group of 5 and we were promptly seated in the back with a few other tables. Shortly after, the other tables emptied out and it was nice and quiet to talk with everyone at the table. The service was very attentive and caring for dietary restrictions. Visited Effy's Cafe on York Ave yesterday with my mom for a Yom HaShoah (holocaust rememberence) event. I had been wanting my mom to try Effy's food for sometime, and this was the perfect occassion. This deserves far better than their average rating of 3.9 as it was pretty tasty with lots of flavor. Enough for seconds! Kind of a southerners palate, & Grandmother approved! Loved this little spot! Very clean, pleasant dining area with friendly, welcoming staff. Food is well prepared and presented. They appear to have a strong Asian clientele, some of whom were ordering from the menu in what I imagine was Sichuan. A fantastic restaurant with an equally fantastic owner and staff. The food is outstanding, and the atmosphere offers a truly cozy dining experience. Their specials are so good they’re hard to choose from. When I ordered the veal parm and the owner nodded in approval, I knew I made the right call. Le Viêt Thai serves good, reasonably-priced food but this is best enjoyed as takeout because the space is cramped, with seating right next to their boxed supplies and space heaters. But if you can get past that, I recommend the crispy pork belly with Chinese broccoli ($16 plus tax) and the Tom Yum soup, both with good heat, textural contrast and depth of flavor.
