Came here to try this cozy restaurant for the first time. Didn't realize it was Cantonese Cuisine until we heard the waiter speak. It wasn't crowded initially, but was full by the time we left with alot of take out orders showing up all at once. Food came out quick, had a good portion size and pretty flavorful. You can see the steam come up from the sizzling steak. The only disappointment was the Tsing Tao beer which was warm, so we had to switch to a Heineken instead.

This is the best place I’ve ever been to in the whole nyc. I have never been to an actual palace but I’m sure I was in one when I was eating there. Mr Zen used to be a cool place to get food but recently they started fluctuating their prices and overcharging. Food is good but I dont recommend going to Mr Zen in the future.

Your typical Chinese small eat in takeout. Chicken fried rice had lots of chicken and egg rolls were delicious. Must be that different Chinese cultures have different versions of fried rice. This rice has a high moisture content and the rice is yellow but it was still delicious.

The chicken was crispy and dry just covered in a lot of sauce with raw broccoli steamed for a few seconds. Arguably the best chain of bbq restaurants around 8th ave, usually you can get away with 30-40$ a person. They usually don't fry their meat before roasting it so it's healthier than most of the bbq stores on 8th ave that do. This store is usually less busy than the Mr q on 59th street, so its a great option to go to if that one gets packed. However, if you're a big eater you could spend upwards of 100$-$150 a person here, so I'd recommend going to a local BBQ buffet instead.

Fong Kwan has finally reopened, for takeout service. EDIT: they now have limited indoor dining, two separate small tables. Proof of COVID-19 vaccination required for dine-in. Very good reliable Cantonese menu plus some Thai dishes too. Good Cantonese style take out I used to be able to find more frequently, this still had some great familiar choices at great prices.

Longtime customer, over 15 years and this food is so consistent. The best shrimp egg foo young by far. I often order delivery and the food is always piping hot which I appreciate. Prices are always fair and I hope nothing but good things for the people here. They have fed me through many hard times.
