Zaya didn't disappoint! Came here for a Valentine's Day Dinner with my daughter and everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. The cucumber appetizer was super fresh and perfectly seasoned, with just a tad of spice that gave it a nice little kick without overpowering it — such a great way to start the meal. The saikoro steak was tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. We also tried the shoyu ramen and the gyukotsu ramen, and both were incredible. The broths were rich and flavorful, and the

I had come here for the lunch special. Started off with a fresh cup of tea as I was looking over the menu. My server was very nice & very fast with any of my requests. Had a miso soup to start off which comes with the lunch . (Soup / salad) option with meal . Went with the 3 roll special. Had a yellowtail scallion , eel avocado & spicy salmon roll. Within a minute of placing my order a bowl of soup was piping hot and on the table. I was not even half way done with my soup and my 3 rolls appe

The Osaka is a clean and friendly environment. We got the Tiger, Mango, Spicy Crunchy Salmon & Green River rolls plus the Rock Shrimp. $70 price tag for the two of us and it was worth every single penny. The waiter was really nice and introduced us to each of the rolls once it has arrived. The service was quick and efficient No complaints and we will be back there.

I have been to all three Daigo locations (City Point, 4th Ave, and this one) and they all are great with their consistent level of preparation and quality fish. This one is nice because it is the most “sit down” of the three, most of the seats are at the bar! Ha! Just like the standing-only location at Dekalb Market Hall (in City Point), you get served one hand roll at a time to ensure your rice is warm. I’ve only been here with as a party of three max so I don’t know for sure if you’d get one h

Came here years ago and this spot still retained the nice atmosphere. Enjoyed seeing local residents visit and recommend reserving just in case. They have an updated menu based on their specials which always a nice touch. I took away a few food stars since the food quality/quantity was a bit lacking from what I remembered. Also, my sushi order sat there on the side for a bit until it was brought to the table and it wasn’t as fresh or they just used bad seaweed. If you want fresh sushi, I recomm

Delightful experience getting sushi to bring to Owl's Head with my best friend here, two pretty good 3 roll combos for ~$32 and it's right around the corner from the park? Not bad at all for these days! Not a huge or exorbitant dining room here but it's clean and cute for a little restaurant like this. We'll definitely be back next time we're in the neighborhood!

Kaki Sushi was phenomenal. The staff was excellent—friendly, welcoming, and genuinely knowledgeable about the menu and sake offerings. They struck that perfect balance of being attentive without being intrusive. The sushi was outstanding: incredibly fresh, beautifully prepared, and inventive without feeling forced or gimmicky. Having eaten sushi all over the world, I don't say this lightly—Kaki ranks among the most memorable experiences I've had. The absolute highlight was the deep-fried eggshel

This is one of my favorite restaurants, not just in NYC, but ever. I used to live across the street and would go multiple times a week back when it was a sit-down restaurant (pre-pandemic). I've since moved away, but I always go out of my way to eat here whenever I come back to visit NYC. The owners and staff are always really nice; they care a lot about their customers and the community. They always remember me, even if it's been a year since I was last there. My sister and I had a phenomenal experience at Sushi Kai. We booked a very last minute reservation and were on a time crunch to catch a broadway show yet the chef was so accommodating; he worked incredibly fast to make sure we caught our show on time, without sacrificing a single bit of the sushi's amazing quality. We had the set omakase menu and every piece was so well prepared and delicious. The seafood was incredibly fresh and some of the best sushi I’ve had since visiting Japan a year ago. W

Honestly this was such a hidden gem and we would go back just for the vibes. Idk where they found their music from but we were vibing the entire time we were there and we loved it! It’s like stepping back into the 80’s as soon as you walk in! The hostess was a sweet lady & catered to us the entire time we were there; didn’t rush us and made sure our bellies were full. We didn’t have to wait long for our food once we ordered. We had the Dynamite which was probably my favorite. We also ordered the

I went there with six people. It’s located in a trendy part of Brooklyn, and the restaurant has a really nice atmosphere. The staff who served our table were also very friendly. As for the food, I was interested in okonomi fried potato and eringi karaage, but they weren’t anything special—just generally tasty. The garlic shrimp was probably the best dish, and the sushi rolls we ordered were also just average. I wasn’t particularly impressed with the desserts. Since it’s in a trendy area, the

the experience completely blew me away. the food is amazing, of course — but the real highlight is the experience itself. It doesn’t take long to understand why the sushi place is called YOLO. We ordered a bottle of sake, but the waiter just kept the drinks coming, and honestly… I don’t even remember how I got home. It was incredible. I ate really well, drank way too much, and met great people. Totally worth it. I’d go back without thinking twice!!

Awesome service. Clean, bright and open atmosphere. Delicious teriyaki. The rice was so yummy (you’d be surprised how badly folks could mess up some white rice) and the chicken was crispy, seasoned well and cooked in the perfect amount of teriyaki sauce. I’m a full-on boba addict at this point (might need an intervention soon). I’m not really into milk teas, fruit teas with a little caffeine are my thing. Found Yaya Tea randomly and it’s quickly become a favorite. They have a kiosk to order so no waiting around which I love. TMI but I was having tummy issues, so when I saw the “period pad” drink I was intrigued 😂 It’s strawberry + mango in peach tea with popping mango boba. I’m obsessed. It honestly lifted my mood. I generally don't like Izakaya food that much but they're doing it excellently here. I got the chef's chosen menu for two. Had to get a double order of the addictive cabbage because it's so good. Also added a supplement of sashimi scallops the quality was excellent and you get like eight slices it's crazy. Also got an order of agadashi tofu it was one of my favorites I've had in the city so comforting texturally masterful. And perfect flavor. The grilled meat was excellent the sauce was perfect

We had a really disappointing experience here regarding a serious food allergy/gluten issue. My friend has celiac disease, and at the beginning of the meal I clearly told our waiter and asked him to let us know if anything we ordered contained gluten since we were sharing all the dishes. Later, we ordered another round of rolls, including one with

Amazing food, service as we remember when they had the restaurant in Astoria. We missed them so much so we had to go to the city and try them out. And yes, food is so delicious, fresh and on point as always! It was so good that we order another ramen to go. I wish they have the tantan dry ramen but it was not on the menu. We had the yellowtail sashimi, Brussels sprouts tempura (which is always one of my favorite), fried chicken, spicy miso ramen and shoyu ramen. All were so delicious and fresh.

Tiny, traditional sushi bar with artful presentations & a choice of à la carte or omakase ordering.
Had a great, budget omakase here. Prices were budget but sushi was outstanding. Very fresh. We even ate things we wouldn’t normally have (raw shrimp and scallop). Service was great. The sushi bar seats twelve and there are two sushi chefs serving six guests each. It was very efficient. We were done in less than ninety minutes $115 for appetizer, 14 nigiri, a hand roll, and a dessert (plus a little rice bowl with uni and a very generous amount of ikura) is amazing.

Wow! What a surprise. Saturday night, was looking for a decent place to grab some sushi. Nothing on Maps caught my eyes except for that one- so I followed my intuition. Beautiful decoration, nicest bartender I had. Great sushi (look how thin the rice is)- so fresh. Took a miso soup as well- actually had a rich flavor, you could tell it's prepared on spot. The bartender explained about the wines and was very generous and welcoming. Highly recommend!

We have been to dozens of omakases at various price points and this place did not disappoint. Quality of the fish was incredible and the nigiri pieces were large. For $75, 13 courses this will become a staple omakase for us. Jimmy was very knowledgable and introduced each piece. Go here!

We came here after craving sushi and seeing the strong ratings on Google Maps, but unfortunately the experience didn’t quite meet expectations. I’m giving this a generous 2–3 stars overall for service, food, and atmosphere. For a 13-course meal priced at over $100+ per person, and spending more than an hour dining, we expected a more engaging and hospitable experience. It would have made a big difference if the staff took time to walk us through the dishes, explain the sushi, or interact more m

I’m very familiar with the chef as I dined in his restaurant many times before. I’m surprised this restaurant has maintained their Michelin star as the food and service was just ok. I’m an avid sushi lover and have been to many restaurants throughout the world. This by far was disappointing, the quality was just ok. The service was mediocre. Randomly picked this place for dinner and I couldn’t have been happier. 1. Vibes were great, they had good music playing and the staff were super cool and friendly 2. Fish quality was amazing. The spicy tuna handroll was my favorite. The sweet potato crunch adds incredible balance. Overall, I would totally come back. You need 4-6 hand rolls to be full so the bill can add up. I took my sister here for her birthday--and I haven't been this ambivalent on an opinion since I watched the theatrical cut of 2001's Moulin Rouge. Did I like it? Did I dislike it? Was I dazzled by all the spectacle and then left hollow by the empty pretty? I think that's where I netted out with Kappo Sono: Empty pretty. Thinking back still makes me laugh a little. There were 4 of us, and the other 3 all ordered rice bowls. After the first bite, they each had this kind of indescribable look that said a lot without words. I ordered teppanyaki, which came out much later after everyone had finished their bowls. The server brought me a free bowl of miso soup to make up for it. The food itself was fine, nothing special. I visited 52nd Sushi with my family and had a good time. It is a small, cozy Japanese restaurant. The space is clean, friendly, and welcoming. The sushi is fresh.
