Spectacular sushi for those folks who appreciate tasty food without taking themselves or food too seriously. In response to some Korean lady giving this place a 1 star for having no Japanese staff and that wait staff was too loud or jokey, lady please….. lol. Does she know how NYC kitchens work? How the most ethnically authentic restaurants’ kitchens are staffed mostly by Latinos/latinas, cooking not their home cuisine. That’s just one example. And the wait staff is so lovely here. And even if y

Did a quick takeout from Queens Center Mall. Very pleased. Everything was fresh and delicious, with a great Beef Teriyaki, fresh veggies with a nice crisp bite and well seasoned dumplings and a flavorful California Roll. That Bento box was a satisfying meal after a busy Sunday. Happy I finally gave them a try!

Intimate, unpretentious bar with a lively vibe specializing in Japanese whiskeys & snacks.
Visited here with my boyfriend on 6/3/26 and we loved it! We were in town from Baltimore and found this place while poking around Google Maps looking for things to do. The vibe is very cozy (the place is definitely on the smaller side - and that's okay). The owner is SO sweet, he took the time to chat with us between his other patrons and he actually ran outside to give me my hair clip when I left it on the bar. The drinks were fantastic too, I had the yuzu chu-hi high ball, my boyfriend had a

Nice little no frills sushi spot in my neighborhood. Glad i gave it a try, it's small but clean. The sushi was good and i got a side of edamame. Would order again. Definitely more of a take out than dine in spot.

Went for our anniversary. The food was fantastic and the staff was warm and welcoming. I loved the set up and it was perfect for a special occasion. The sake was very unique and exceptional. I almost don’t want to post pictures so as not to ruin the surprise!

Snug, casual spot featuring specialty sushi rolls & Japanese kitchen entrees for takeout or dine-in.
This is my favorite sushi place, I ordered both take-out and dine-in multiple times at A Sushi. Their lunch special is cheaper than many other places and includes either a free salad or miso soup. Super tasty, my favorites include spicy salmon, eel avocado, salmon avocado, and more! I often buy two rolls after school as snack and occasionally during my free time I got three rolls for real lunch. Fish is of good quality, no fishy taste, and I never get upset stomach.

The decor is beautiful and really reminds me of Japan. The fish and rice in the omakase were excellent, especially the golden eye snapper and the trout sushi, which were absolute standouts. Chef Suzuki-san prepares each piece with great care, and the rest of the team is very friendly and attentive. Overall, this is one of the best sushi restaurants in NYC.

Sashimi, rolls & other raw fish join kitchen-cooked fare on the menu at this classic Japanese spot.
Yes bad reviews are true, unfortunately. They sending away uber smaller and low quality of food, knowing it’s almost impossible to get refund or replacement. With raw fish is mostly crucial, high risks of poisoning.

I stopped by for lunch and ordered the sashimi lunch special, the sashimi was incredibly fresh—beautifully sliced, vibrant in color, and buttery in texture. You can immediately tell they use fresh and high-quality fish. Each piece tasted clean and delicate, with that perfect melt-in-your-mouth feel that great sashimi should have. The miso soup was comforting and flavorful, not overly salty, and tasted homemade. Even the wasabi stood out—it had a fresh, clean heat that shows they care about qual

Definitely among the best ramen in NYC, thick and flavorful broth, though on the salty side which may be too much for some people. Good portion, noodles were perfect, toppings were great. Solid 9.5/10. Very friendly service.

I’ll be honest: finding this place was a bit of a challenge! Tucked away in a townhouse on 53rd Ave, it’s a true hidden spot, but it is absolutely worth the effort to locate. The design is beautiful - dark, sleek, and incredibly sophisticated with armchairs and sofas, making it very cozy. They offer a variety of Japanese-inspired cocktails and a great sake list. Service was excellent—attentive without being intrusive. If you’re looking for a cozy, upscale vibe for a quiet drink, this is it. Just

First time here . Nice and cozy . Our table was ready because we had a reservation . The server was friendly and quick with taking our orders . Drinks and appetisers came quick and so did our mains . Everything was flowing quickly and smoothly . Food quality was pretty good especially the rock shrimp. The sushi platter was nice with variety and the drinks were nice as well . Overall we had a great dinner experience . 👍

This place was great a year ago, but recently, it has been awful! Gave it so many chances because they used to be great, but it has been nothing but disappointment. Food is not always fresh/tasty, portions are inconsistent, and at times mushy and tasteless. However, this last order was the final straw - ordered a salmon avocado, but received .... photos shall speak for itself, see attached.

My family and I have called in a large lunch order for pick up four weeks in a row...and have ordered in the past several times. The order is always ready quickly. To date, never any issues. They separated the hot food from the cold food when bagging. Everything is as it should be with plenty of sauces and most importantly, DELICIOUS! The 3 roll combo is a great deal and we like the Yellowstone pizza...crispy base, avocado, seaweed salad (i think) and your choice of tuna or salmon on top.

My favorite place to go for food and bubble tea. Very affordable 8 dollars for a large bubble tea that is a bucket. The sushi is very good with an 18 dollar combo of 3 rolls and medium drink. They have the best boba bubbles in flushing. You will not be disappointed. I have included pictures of the medium and large drinks, along with the sushi .

I’ve frequented Finest Sushi several times the past month and must admit that their service and food warrant a review. I’ve recently ordered the shrimp vegetable tempura (ate a shrimp :)) from the appetizer menu and the tempura is fried perfectly and served with a delicious tempura sauce. It’s generally served with shrimp and mixed vegetables (sweet potato’s, carrots, pumpkin, onion, broccoli and cauliflowers). They always have the perfect crunch and batter to vegetable ratio. Based on the reviews I had high hopes for this place. Unfortunately it did not live up to expectations. The New York roll was ok, nothing special, but the Volcano roll was inedible. It was fishy tasting, the texture was mushy and overall it was just really bad. The rock shrimp had ok flavor but was soggy. The Beef Yaki Udon was flavorless, the noodles were overcooked and the meat was grey and flaccid. They also failed to include any utensils and provided only one tiny soy sauce for a pretty big

It's a small, dark restaurant on the main drag on Avenue N. There's limited street parking. The workers were very nice and happy to explain the menu and listened to allergy concerns. Simple, compact Japanese eatery offering a large selection of kitchen entrees, along with maki.
The restaurant is located in the Dyker Heights section of Brooklyn. They prepare Japanese cuisine. The salmon teriyaki bento box included soup or salad, California roll, three shumai, shrimp and vegetable tempura with white rice. The salmon was fresh and slightly breaded. Visited for a special occasion after seeing all the hype on social media ✨ The staff and chefs were very friendly. The appetizers were just okay, but the sushi was definitely the highlight 🙌 The rice was perfectly prepared, and the subtle charcoal aroma during the meal made the whole experience even more enjoyable 👍 That said, I probably wouldn’t come back not because it wasn’t good, but because I’d rather try other restaurants at this price point. The only downside was a lingering fishy smell

Elevated dim sum along with wok & hibachi fare in a hip, modern setting or for takeout & delivery.
While this is not really traditional dim sum - there are no carts and many of the items are what I would consider Fusion, it is really fantastic. We went on a Friday night - it was busy but not ridiculously so. Which is a good thing because the restaurant is quite small. When we were there, there was a children's birthday party in the hibachi restaurant upstairs which was extremely loud. I don't know if that is normal or was just a special occasion. We started with a couple soups - the Tom Yum

This is one of three locations, as of now, of this miniature Japanese chain, which also has two salons. As the name suggests, the place specializes in matcha (and other various teas) as well as onigirazu, or rice sandwich. In terms of matcha, they offer the traditional types made with water or milk, along with a range of matcha drinks infused with flavors like hibiscus or yuzu. It was our first visit to this lively and intimate sake bar last night. They have a wide variety of sake and delicious Izakaya dishes. We had karage, seared scallops, quail eggs, tofu dashi, pork shabu, yellow tail and salmon sashimi and they were all yummy and authentic. The bar’s design is cool including an old nintendo display and cute Japanese manga stuff reminding us of Tokyo (we visited Japan a few rimes). The founders (the Chos) were friendly and attentive (they are husband and wife)! So

Japanese restaurant popular for traditional array of raw fish plates complemented by cooked meals.
This is my go to local sushi spot. Everything tastes super fresh and the service is great. I usually order the three roll lunch special - eel avocado, salmon avocado and spicy salmon (50c extra for crunchy), with miso soup. It never disappoints, whether I sit in or order out. The only slight bit of constructive feedback I have is that the restaurant itself isn’t the greatest in terms of decor. But the food and staff are amazing.

One of the worst sushi experiences I’ve had. Absolutely no taste, and the ingredients were clearly low quality. I ordered two separate sushi dishes for two different people, and they shoved both into the same box. Two orders in one box. Seriously? They saved a box but lost a customer. The packaging was pathetic, the staff wasn’t friendly, and the whole thing felt cheap and careless. I love sushi, but I’m definitely never coming back here for it again. Sushi was oily, I never had oily sushi ever.

I visit this Japanese teriyaki spot all the time, and it never disappoints! The food is always fresh, flavorful, and affordable. Adding a review because I really think this place deserves more than a 1.8 star rating. I got the chicken margherita special and it came out in about 10 minutes, piping hot fresh and very tasty. The service was good too the lady was super nice. Honestly, I think people shouldn’t have huge standards for airport food - it does a job - but this pizza was very good! Overall food was fine. Subtle and delicate. Similar to the atmosphere. Nothing exceptional other than the service. Service was outstanding and I left wondering why the food wasn’t on par. Expensive for the quality of fish. For example, I was served cuttlefish, kohaba, liver pate, and a brown edge otoro. I thought did the restaurant have sourcing challenges or leftovers for this particular evening. Furthermore, crispy puffed rice was used multiple times in the omakase (hand roll, dessert, and tak

As an OG fan of Sushi Nozawa in studio city years ago, I was psyched to try Sugar Fish. On the way in, someone leaving said welcome to the best food in nyc. Big boast, but they may not be wrong.
