Everything is fantastic: the food, the service and the sake. Some of the freshest and most delicious sushi I had this year. Really appreciated the warm service as well. I would gladly return if it just wasn't so darn expensive. There are other omakase restaurants in New York City that now offer a similar experience at a much lower price point (easily half of what Kosaka charges). Plus, you must pay up front when you make the reservation. Additionally, it's worth mentioning that this is a very sm

I had a wonderful experience at Sushi W for my dad's birthday. After being welcomed in, we were given a choice of where to sit at the counter and introduced to our chef Javier. There's usually a good rotation of fish at other Omakase places I frequent, but this dinner was the first time I've ever had Branzino or Sable prepared as nigiri. They both stood out to me and the sable was both mine and my family's favorite piece of the night. We all got a second piece a la carte. Everything was top-ti

Having disliked Raku’s Washington Square location, I had low expectations, but this visit was rather pleasant. The udon has a chewy and springy texture, and the signature smoky flavor in the noodles and pork is very distinct. I particularly enjoyed the nabeyaki hot udon for its delicate, memorable flavors (I'd probably come back for it). The restaurant offers a clean environment and good service, creating a warm and comfortable atmosphere. High-quality ingredient sourcing is key for this nabeyak

I recently visited Oasis Ramen with my niece and nephew while they were in town, and it turned out to be a great choice. From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed with a smile, which set the tone for a pleasant experience. The food came out quickly, which was perfect since we had two hungry teenagers with us. The ramen itself was excellent—the broth was rich, flavorful, served piping hot and everything tasted fresh and well prepared. Overall, it was an easy, enjoyable dining experience wi

Imo the ramen in the neighborhood is horrible! But when i tried this place, i said Finally a legit ramen place with authentic broth! I’ll be coming back here if i want good ramen nearby. I got the tonkotsu (black) and also tried the karaage and the pork katsu. All excellent! The owner though Salvadorian was trained by Japanese chefs. Cool story. Great folks

Everything about this experience was fantastic, start to finish. I went on a frigid Monday night with a roommate after we decided we both needed to get out for a walk, a bite and some girl talk. Greeted as soon as we stepped inside the small but cozy space, we were offered a choice of table and sat promptly. The menus are very cool- tactile and printed on a heavy, shiny card stock with an elegant, clean design. Bar menu had some beautiful renderings of drinks. The food menu is extensive so it to

The best place I've ever eaten at. The service was incredibly warm, thoughtful, and accommodating. We keep kosher, and at first we were very skeptical about the menu options. The lovely hostess told us that they offer a special kosher meal for guests who observe kashrut. We were thrilled and immediately made a reservation for that evening. The experience was truly exceptional. The staff knew exactly what we could and could not eat—sometimes even better than we did. Their knowledge and attention

Formerly Osaka, this restaurant has fresh sushi at reasonable prices. We went for lunch and had the salmon teriyaki bento box that includes miso soup or salad, edamame, shumi, California roll salmon and veggies for only $12.95. It also has the traditional Japanese seating area where you remove your shoes and sit at low tables on the floor directly on thin cushions. So few Japanese restaurants still offer this style of dining, so it was a treat to find this little gem.

The best sushi place i’ve ever been to! I can’t eat at any other place after having their sushi because it’s that good. Their sushi is top quality and is very fresh. They have such good prices and their lunch special deals are the best. The owner and his family are so nice and welcoming. Definitely go here for the best sushi you won’t want to go anywhere else!!

We did the $88 dollar dinner with 13 courses of nigiri and everything was perfect. The appetizer was served in this bowl with a lid on it and smoke inside which really added to the flavor of the dish. Truly unique. All the sushi was delicious except for the sea urchin which I personally don’t like. Also, the aged miso soup had such a strong, unique flavor, I’ve never had any miso soup like it before. The brown sugar ice cream for desert had a subtle flavor that was a perfect way to finish off th

Really flavorful ramen and so generous with the meat portions… it’s hard to find good ramen in nyc and this is the spot! Unfortunately they need to staff more people because they only had one man working in such busy conditions which was unacceptable and so hard to see. It’s hard to support a business that has such good quality food but doesn’t support humane work conditions.

Osaka is one of those places that quietly exceeds expectations in all the right ways. The food is genuinely outstanding—everything tastes fresh, thoughtfully prepared, and balanced. Whether you’re going for classic rolls or something a bit more creative, it’s clear there’s real attention to quality and detail in every dish. The atmosphere adds a lot to the experience too. I honestly hate to leave a low review like this for a place with such amazing food, but sometimes 1 inconsiderate action and bad service can ruin the entire experience. I sent my partner here to have a solo dinner because they had a bad day. However right after she paid and TIPPED her server was rushing her to leave, this was very rude to do because she was just waiting

Sanyuu West is an omakase restaurant that offers a 15 course experience at a price point that is genuinely difficult to match in New York for what the kitchen delivers. I did however order tofu teriyaki which was fantastic….until I found a bug in my broccoli the next day….now you can say I planted it and I’m looking for some sort of compensation. Small and cute restaurant with only counter seating, maybe only 10-12 seats total; we came during happy hour and didn’t have to wait at all! I had stopped by this little hole in the wall a handful of times before stopping in several months ago during a cold winter day. The place was pretty quiet, and the staff was friendly. A colleague recommended a different Ramen restaurant but the C rating made us look elsewhere. We found Konoha Yakitori Ramen and Sushi House and had a fabulous experience. The worst sushi I’ve ever had in my entire life. I don’t understand how can they give this to a customer? You can see on photos, there was skin and brown stuff that belongs in the trash. Toraji is the best Japanese BBQ restaurant in New York when it comes to meat quality. It’s perfect for both business dinners and special occasions, and I love the spacious, open atmosphere of the restaurant. The yukhoe is excellent, and the thick-cut beef tongue is a must-try. While Toraji has a location in Chinatown, I personally recommend the Midtown location for its atmosphere and overall experience.

Verse is for sure a jewel in this nice neighborhood, offering a clean environment and cozy vibe. However, the menu and queue line experience could use enhancements. Menu items are too mixed together, and the graphic design makes it hard to understand your options, which contributed to a long wait since there’s no way to preview the menu at the entrance. Food-wise, I recommend the Egg Sando and Hojicha latte — the Matcha was alright but not distinctive. Also, the rear bar area felt like a waste;

Delicious sushi at a very high quality. Small portions and not filling, steep pricing too. Small dining area so requires some waiting but the staff are welcoming, informative, and tipping is already included in the price. The only reason why it's not a 5* in my opinion, is because it's a nice experience for a one time thing - to treat yourself and your company. But I find it hard to justify coming back for a meal for the price and satiety. Yes the fish is high quality and DELICIOUS, but past tha
