Colorful gathering place with a bar offering up a variety of different Caribbean dishes.
Absolutely amazing food from start to finish. The oxtail with rice and peas and salad was full of rich, authentic flavor and cooked perfectly. The cow foot soup was hands down the best I’ve ever had—deep, comforting, and packed with flavor. I also tried the spicy boneless chicken, which was outstanding, and the spicy wings were delicious but definitely not for the faint of heart—they will challenge your heat tolerance 😎. Everything was fresh, well-seasoned, and clearly made with care. I’ll defi

This is probably the closest you’ll get to the authentic Jamaican flavor and juiciness of a beef patty. Still, nothing quite compares to a freshly made Jamaican patty with cocoa bread. It’s flaky, flavorful, and really satisfying. I tried the cheese patty with cocoa bread as well as a regular beef patty. Both were good and definitely hit the spot. Overall, it was really delicious, and I’d recommend checking it out.

Haven’t had a shark burger since I moved to NYC from South Carolina. They eat us—we eat them. And this one was well worth it. (Not an easy menu item to find in the Big Apple.) The serving was huge—two sizable shark fillets, with the works, on a toasted bun. The plantains were just as delectable. And the original hot sauce was hot and tangy—maybe that’s mango in there? Homemade tartar sauce too. Yes, your order is going to take a few extra minutes—but there’s a sign that tells you that. So if

The staff was extremely friendly and the food was delicious. I was visiting NY from another country, and very quickly, the friendly staff engaged in conversation and provided top class service. Dinner one night, lunch the next day, and a takeaway of mauby and turnovers.

20% service charge automatically added no matter the party size. The shrimp I got still had the vein in them and that was off putting but the flavors were amazing in everything that we tried. The wings are very good and the pastas rich and creamy. The curry goat is savory while the oxtail is more on the sweet side. The food and drinks were good overall and I would go back. Music is great.

I stopped by Island Express in Flatbush this evening because I wanted to try something new, and I’m really glad I did. When I first walked in, I was a little unsure of what to order and must have looked confused because the gentleman behind the counter immediately asked if he could help. I explained what I was in the mood for, and he kindly walked me through the offerings and showed me the different Caribbean dishes available. I loved the open concept of the space, especially being able to see

We are a Christian group that meet every two years. During our gathering we always take quality time to talk. However, the owner or the restaurant was rushing us to leave the table to get food. We were there for four hours from 5 to nine since 7 pm he was precipitated us non stopping. He lied about the food options, and the salad he presented was not good. He charged us because we paid our balance with credit cards. Which part from Haiti did he come from he is so low. That was the first and is t

This restaurant was surprising and a great find. My friend and I went for Brunch on a Sunday. They had great tropical options for unlimited mimosas. The service was excellent, waitress was great and bartender attentive. Then a DJ came and although the music was a throwback, it was a relaxing atmosphere. The oxtail was amazing and appetizers flavorful from prix fix Brunch menu. large portions and food was so good. I ordered take home for my mom and she raved about the portion and how great the fo

First of all after all the commotion my chicken that is ON my receipt is not in my bag. But the real issue is I worked 12 hours and drove a good distance to get there for the bogo meal which is only available on the app. (Ubereats). That info is not immediately available so you arrive thinking you can do this on sight. The man who served me told me I could have anything except the chili wings as proteins and then when all the fussing started at the register (between the workers) he tried to walk

Came across a Jamrock Jerk Food truck in my neighborhood and had to see what the unmistakeable Jerk Chicken aroma was all about. As with most Food Trucks the line says a lot. In this case there was none and they were dead smack in the middle of a high traffic mall area. That was the first sign. Gave them a try anyway and we were unfortunately disappointed. The jerk chicken was well seasoned but very dry and hard. It was well marinated so much so you didn’t even need the jerk sauce which comes i

I really love Jamaican Food and want to try always! The girl who worked there was very nice, she explained everything. It’s just that the food is not fresh, family got diarrhea for days. We bought Okra as well and that was bad as soon as we got home so threw it away. The only thing good was the bread. They didn’t have jerk chicken which is my favorite. Please tell me where to eat good Jamaican food :) ( we got in pic, rice&peas, okra, Oxtail, chicken curry, fried sweet bread)

Drinks were great, and the Escovitch fish, rice and peas were very good. Flavor profile did not meet traditional standards for the Jerk Pork, steamed cabbage, and plantains. Sweet chili wings were drowned in a weird, sweet, tobasco-based sauce. It was also cold. Whenever guests came in, went out, we were thrusts into the outdoors for 30 seconds (it was barely 10° last night). I'm sure the servers and bartenders are freezing during their shifts. Sooo I placed an order 1/15/26 for boneless curry chicken with buss up . Now when I got my order the food smelt amazing but immediately I noticed that the chicken was dark …. Like stew chicken dark …. As soon as I ate it all I tasted was sugar . So what I think they did was gave me Stew Chicken with Curry potatoes …. Sigh …. There is no way curry chicken is THIS dark . And the chicken does not taste like curry at alllllllll more like stew chicken .

I've been ordering from Frank's for a few years now and sad to say the quality of their food has gone down. My favorite item to order the pepper pot soup used to be so amazing with no skimp on any of the traditional ingredients. Now I've had watery versions and the latest thicker version with ONE piece of beef filled with spinners and potatoes(some of them not even good) and the color so light green it could almost be white. Even the basic chicken soup is watery now and lacks flavor. I keep orde

I have tried about 80% of want liberty had to offer in terms of food and pastries of a select variety and this one takes the cake. So much so that the last time I went I ordered a regular mild Beef Patty and another Spinach patty which was surprisingly flavorful. Now I know why there's always a line. Also the tv scr

This place is over-rated in my opinion and needs work. It is not worth the $80+ bill just for 1 cocktail & a meal at all. Don’t be fooled. Time: 6:00pm Table for 2 Moderate traffic 1. The shorter building with the actual logo is NOT the restaurant side, that is an event space attached to the restaurant so it is very misleading, the restaurant entrance is on the corner with no logo above it. 2. I stopped by Las’ Lap after work on a Thursday after hearing good things about it. My friend and I tried the jerk chicken egg rolls and the codfish fritters for our starters. If I had to choose between these two options, the codfish fritters would be my pick. For the big tings, we got the jerk chicken and the oxtail. Nowadays, the options for Dominican food/adjacent cuisines in lower Manhattan aren’t as abundant as they used to be. Because of that, it’s really nice to have this place around. The lunch special was a great deal at $12, and the carne guisada was incredibly tender. Though I do wish I got a bit more of the stew and less of the [spanish] rice, which itself was still really good. The tostones were freshly made, as evidenced by the additional five minute wait time. WELL WORTH IT! Seriously some of
