MAA-MAA JAPANESE We spent 10yrs in Tokyo and loved our time there. Dining here at Benemon was disappointing. The Yakiniku Don was super salty. The cocktail was decent. The Karaage is OK. The Sesame Pudding so-so. Overall… average. Which is not what one would expect from a cuisine built from a reputation of “craft”, beauty and taste. And they kept serving me my dessert before I could even have my Main Dish. Not Japanese service. Zannen!!!

Solid prices, great value for the sushi. They have awesome lunch prices too. Service / staff was excellent. It’s a good spot for birthdays too since they bring out a drum and single happy birthday (and you get a candle in a scoop of ice cream). I walked in for dinner on a Monday around 7:30pm and there was some open seating. Highly recommend the crunchy rice and spicy roll combo. I gave a 4 for atmosphere because the lights at the sushi bar are too white / bright, but maybe good for the sushi

my all time favorite sushi bar. Everything from the service to the food is chefs kiss. the portions are huge and the quality of the fish is so fresh. Unfortunately, I found this place so late in life but I never miss a chance to go back. I moved out of state just half a year after finding this spot so I can't go back as much as I would like but I ALWAYS make a reservation whenever I'm back in the city and I always bring new friends. I love this place and if you're finding it for the first time,

Masaaki is an absolutely unexpected gem. Lovely Japanese restaurant with an inviting atmosphere. Valet is also available, parking around this area can be challenging. The food, cocktails, and service were truly incredible. For cocktails, I had the lovin’ lychee and my friend had the cosmo blossom. Both drinks were tasty and strong. Edamame was complimentary. We ordered the foie gras roll, crispy duck roll, chilean sea bass, and exotic bomba. My friend and I enjoyed everything, our personal favor

I go the shrimp tempura and shrimp shumai. The best shrimp tempura I ever had. The rolls were so big and it filled me up so fast. The shrimp shumai was really good as well. This was my second time ordering this. The customer service over the phone was great. I can’t wait to actually go in the restaurant and experience it.

This place is everything you want in a sushi spot—immaculate, fresh, and consistently delicious. Every bite is packed with flavor, and you can tell there’s real care behind the food. The owner is an absolute gem, which makes the whole experience even more special. Love, love, love.

An intimate high quality sushi establishment that features wonderful omakase made right in front of you, naturally. Chefs seem relaxed and very friendly and that’s prompted me to call this one of the most chill Omakase restaurants I’ve experienced. So for that reason when I think of overall quality I’m prompted to give it extra points for that alone. It felt easy to chat with my companions here, and not feel like I was intruding on some quiet sacred ritual - as I’ve felt in other high end Omakas

My favorite place to eat after or during work! Unfortunately, it’s not suitable for lunch since they only open late. The Mentaiko Undon is my guilty pleasure! I would love to eat here every day, but we’re adults and need boundaries! Also, please raise the salary of the DJ who plays all the alternative chill electronic obscure music (not the one playing reggaeton and such; that one, please fire immediately!).

Tiny, refined hot spot offering chef's-choice sushi meals, including oyster, spotted prawn & tuna.
I dined at Shiki last night and unfortunately had a less than stellar experience. My wife and I had reservations for their 17 course $100 omakase. On the positive note they were very accommodating to a food sensitivity that I have, so points for that. I have a hard time digesting very oily meat like toro or Wagyu so they were swapped out without an issue. The chef that served us was polite, but conversation was very limited. We’ve had much more interaction with chefs at most other omakase dinner

Finally came out to try Vert Frais with a group of friends. It was about an hour wait even at opening, so it may be better to come later to avoid the opening crowd or go on a weekday if you're able. The lavender lemonade was incredible, and their drinks were good in general, more impressive than the food. The fries and karaage our group shared were great. I ordered a plain omelette that came with a side salad and bread. Omelette was good, but not mindblowing, and the sides have nothing worthy of

We had the omakase experience, so the chef prepared whatever he felt was best for the night instead of ordering individually. I always enjoy this style more because it lets the chef show their own balance and pacing throughout the meal. The quality of the fish was very good and everything felt fresh and carefully prepared. My favorite bites were definitely the truffle nigiri and the hand roll at the end. The truffle worked surprisingly well without overpowering the fish, and the hand roll was s

Really enjoyed my visit to Kikoo Sushi near Columbia University. The sushi and sashimi were fresh, and I loved the variety on the menu. Tried Kyuramen in Brooklyn and had the shrimp tempura, a ramen bowl, and a bento box. The shrimp tempura was crispy and light, while the ramen was comforting with a flavorful broth and fresh noodles. The bento box was a nice combo option with good variety. Overall, a solid casual spot for Japanese comfort food and a satisfying ramen experience. 🍜🍤🍱

Another solid omakase spot in NYC. Went for the 17 course and you are more than full by the end. Fun creative pieces of sushi, the sake pairing was a fun addition that wasn't cost prohibitive. Fish was fresh, the staff was very attentive, and the Chef we had was a blast to talk to not only about his own sushi experience but also his cooking history. I was honestly surprised the place was not more crowded than it was.

I loved this sushi spot!!!!! They had the cute little tables on the floor where you have to take your shoes off to sit. That was such a cool vibe! The service was great and everyone was so nice. The food was also obviously amazing. They had such a range of foods from noodles and rices, to sushi & omakase to fried foods and cooked appetizers. I loved the spicy scallop wrapped in avocado and the fresh octopus with pickled wasabi. The fish was also so fresh I could’ve had 100 plates. This is a grea

Got delivery from here and I will definitely be back! I ordered a salmon don and yellowtail jalapeño roll. The prices were extremely reasonable for NYC, and the miso soup was AMAZING. I could order 2 more miso soups because it was that good. The miso soup at Natto was so flavorful and umami. The salmon and yellowtail were also extremely fresh. The restaurant also accommodated my request for extra wasabi and less sodium soy sauce which i appreciated a lot. I ordered delivery which came very fast

Beautiful and classic omakase experience. Dishes were creative and paired well with high-end sake and wines. Some nice conversations with the chef and staff, learning more about their craft. Biggest drawback is simply the price and what you get for it — in such a competitive market there are more sensible options and it’s out of reach for many.

Their sandoitchi sets all come with either a side of fries or salad. I very much enjoyed the side salad, so much that I would totally order it if it was on the menu. The nori fries are the perfect side if you want something crunchy! Of the two sandos I tried, I prefer the chicken since it was so juicy and tender. I also tried one of their Cambodian teishoku sets. This place keeps changing names, but their quality and quantity remains the same- great! The dining area isn’t too big along, with their kitchen, but they pump out the food fast! The menu selection is huge and I love that each item has a picture, so you know what to expect. The menu selection still not enough? Just look at the walls for more food options. Cute little place for a quick bite. The food was fresh and the service was good. The location is small, but perfectly comfortable for a weekday meal. The flavors are pretty standard for an American sushi place. Okay, I just got back from Ajimi and I had to immediately write a review because this place is fantastic. Seriously, every single thing we ordered was great. The highlight for me was hands down the Ajimi Kuro ramen. I could eat that stuff every day. It was just perfectly savory and delicious. If you go, you HAVE to get it. What really blew me away, though, was the value. The food was exceptional, and the portions were actually really good. I was expecting less given the price, and other reviews

First time trying onigirazu (sushi sandwich) and it was yum. I got the value combo with miso soup and candied sweet potatoes, both of which were nice additions to the main dish. We got the Beef & Ginger and Japanese Fried Chicken, Karaage with Yuzu Ponzu Scallions onigirazus. They were both good, but I personally preferred the Beef & Ginger. Easily recommended! Fairly small, low-key place with a long sushi counter and a handful of tables. If you go for omakase there are several price points available, which I think are all very reasonable. If you're at the sushi counter, the service is very efficient; this won't be a course that goes on for hours. Good variety of fish and flavors, hitting a few different points of taste and texture. Definitely good nigiri, all nicely put together with unique garnishes that complement each piece wit

Some pieces just melt in your mouth and all the flavors are very well balanced. I wish I had more pictures to share but we were so immersed in

Sushi You used to be THAT spot… but not anymore. Came back on 4/22/26 and the difference was night and day. The biggest letdown? The rice—dry, no flavor, no hint of that classic vinegar taste. That alone ruined most of the sushi. My sister’s Tom Yum soup was a miss, but the pork gyoza was a hit. Chef’s choice sushi was just okay, and the “free” California roll? They could’ve kept it.
